I got my start in broadcasting in the 1970's at high school radio station WGBP in Green Bay WI. NFL play by play announcer Kevin Harlan also worked at the radio station at that same time announcing sporting events. Ironically we both do work for the Westwood One. I've been the imaging voice for NFL radio broadcasts on Westwood One for over 15 years and Kevin has been the Monday Night Football play by play announcer the past few years.
After a few months of overnights & weekends on Top 40 formatted WKAU/Appleton-Green Bay WI, I was hired for Afternoon Drive on 100,000 watt rocker WAPL/Appleton-Green Bay. Under the guidance of the program director Wayne Shayne I helped transform the station to the most listened to radio station in the Fox Valley market. In the summer of 1985 I moved on to WQFM/Milwaukee for the midday announcer position & production director. It was during this period I became the concert voice of Alpine Valley Music Theatre & started building a roster of radio stations that featured my voice on their imaging (ID's, promos etc). Then it was on to the legendary "Riff"...WRIF/Detroit for production director & station imaging duties in 1992.
In December 1995 I left WRIF to devote more time to David lee Imaging...the production and voice over service I started back in the 1980's. Through the years I have produced thousands of motor sports commercials, liners, ID's & promos for radio stations all over the globe (including Germany & Nigeria), as well as major network TV promos, and even video game voice work.
